Welcome to Shropshire Seniors

Our chair John Dodson explains what we do and where we meet near you.

Shropshire Seniors was formed 10 years ago. As a registered charity (no. 1105512), we have 6,000 members and are here to make a difference in people's lives. We speak up for the over-50s in the county as a powerful non-partisan voice and also help to combat loneliness and encourage community cohesion by holding meetings across Shropshire.

Our head office is at 5 Swan Hill Court, Shrewsbury, a 5-minute walk from the Square. If you want directions, go to google maps and put in our post code SY1 1NP.

Our forums currently meet in Albrighton, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton, Shrewsbury and Wem & Whitchurch. Click on any of these place names and you'll be taken direct to our forum page.

You're always welcome to any forum which interests you. Just come along on the day. We attract a range of interesting speakers from police commissioners to health chiefs and the occasional politician! All meetings (see list on right) are free under the kind grant we receive from the Big Lottery Fund. We have also received generous donations from the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales and the Garfield Weston Foundation.

A good way of getting to know us is to subscribe to our free bimonthly Forum newsletter which gives you an up-to-date report on key issues, including rural transport, adult social care, hospital parking charges and much more. Just pop your email in the 'Newsletter sign up' box at the top left of this screen.

I look forward to hearing from you.
